The Clearwater 9,150 Litre Shallow Dig Cesspool provides a dependable solution for the collection and storage of sewage, surface water, veterinary and animal waste, firefighting water reserves, and rainwater harvesting. Manufactured from durable Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP), this low-profile cylindrical tank is designed to reduce excavation requirements, making off-mains drainage installations faster, more cost-effective, and easier to complete.
Its shallow dig design makes it particularly suitable for sites where deep excavations are undesirable or impractical. Designed in accordance with BS 6297, the Clearwater 9,150L Cesspool provides a robust, long-lasting storage solution for a wide range of domestic, commercial, and agricultural applications.
Cesspools are designed solely for the storage of wastewater and require periodic emptying by a licensed tanker. Optional high-level alarms are available to provide audible and visual notifications when the tank approaches capacity, helping to prevent overfilling and maintain efficient operation.

Important Installation Information
Cesspools are intended for storage only and must be emptied at regular intervals by a licensed tanker. High-level alarms are available to provide both visual and audible warnings when emptying is required.
When planning an installation, consideration should be given to:
- Adequate tanker access for future emptying
- Positioning at least 7 metres from any dwelling
- Ideally locating the tank at least 10 metres from nearby watercourses
- Site ground conditions and accessibility
- Compliance with Building Regulations and Environment Agency requirements
Please note that current Building Regulations generally require a minimum cesspool capacity of 18,000 litres for a two-person domestic dwelling, therefore larger capacities may be required for residential installations.
Why Choose a Shallow Dig Cesspool?
The Clearwater Shallow Dig range is designed to minimise excavation depth and reduce installation costs while maintaining excellent storage capacity. This makes it an ideal solution for sites with difficult ground conditions or where traditional deep excavations are not practical.
