The QUANTUM 6 Sewage Treatment Plant is a high-performance domestic wastewater treatment system designed to serve properties with up to 6 people (6 PE). Using advanced activated sludge technology, the QUANTUM delivers exceptional treatment performance while maintaining low running costs, minimal maintenance requirements, and long-term reliability. Unlike many conventional sewage treatment plants, the QUANTUM incorporates innovative features such as the Vibro-Screen™, Settled Sludge Return (SSR) and Floating Sludge Return (FSR) systems, which work together to maximise treatment efficiency and reduce servicing requirements. The result is a highly effective sewage treatment solution that consistently produces high-quality treated effluent suitable for discharge to a watercourse or drainage field, subject to local regulations.
Advanced Wastewater Treatment Process
Sewage entering the QUANTUM first passes through the innovative Vibro-Screen™, which prevents non-biodegradable materials from entering the biological treatment zone while allowing organic solids to pass through for digestion. The screened wastewater is then aerated within the treatment chamber, creating an ideal environment for naturally occurring bacteria to thrive. These beneficial microorganisms break down organic matter, pollutants, and suspended solids, effectively treating the wastewater without the need for additional chemicals or bacterial additives.
Following treatment, the wastewater enters the final settlement chamber where activated sludge settles to the bottom. The settled bacteria are automatically returned to the aeration chamber via the Settled Sludge Return (SSR) system, maintaining a healthy bacterial population and ensuring optimal treatment performance at all times. Any floating biological crust that develops within the clarification chamber is automatically returned to the treatment process through the Floating Sludge Return (FSR) system. This unique feature eliminates the need for manual crust removal, helping reduce maintenance costs and servicing time.
Designed for Low Occupancy Performance
Many sewage treatment plants struggle when properties are occupied below their design capacity. The QUANTUM overcomes this issue with a simple adjustable air control system, allowing airflow to be increased or decreased depending on usage levels. This enables the plant to maintain efficient biological treatment even during periods of low occupancy, making it ideal for holiday homes, rural properties, and residences with fluctuating wastewater volumes.
Reliable, Low-Maintenance Design
The WTE QUANTUM has been engineered for long-term reliability. The only electrical component is a low-energy air blower housed safely beneath the lid. There are:
