The Clearwater 2,800 Litre Shallow Dig Cesspool provides a reliable and cost-effective solution for the collection and storage of sewage, surface water, veterinary and animal waste, firefighting water reserves, and rainwater harvesting. Manufactured from durable Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP), this low-profile cylindrical tank is designed to reduce excavation requirements, making installation faster, easier, and more economical for off-mains drainage applications.
Its shallow dig design helps minimise groundwork and installation costs compared to traditional deeper tanks, while still providing a robust and dependable wastewater storage solution. Designed in accordance with BS 6297, the Clearwater 2,800L Cesspool offers excellent durability and long-term performance in a wide range of domestic, agricultural, and commercial applications.
As a storage-only system, the cesspool requires regular emptying by a licensed tanker. Optional high-level alarms are available, providing both audible and visual warnings when the tank reaches capacity to help prevent overflows and optimise maintenance schedules.

Important Installation Information
Cesspools are designed exclusively for the storage of wastewater and sewage. The contents must be removed at regular intervals by a licensed tanker. High-level alarm systems are available to provide visual and audible alerts when the tank requires emptying.
When installing a cesspool, consideration should be given to:
- Adequate access for tanker emptying and future maintenance
- A minimum distance of 7 metres from any dwelling
- Positioning at least 10 metres from nearby watercourses where possible
- Site accessibility and ground conditions
- Compliance with Building Regulations and Environment Agency requirements
Please note that under current Building Regulations, domestic cesspools generally require a minimum capacity of 18,000 litres for a two-person dwelling, meaning larger tank capacities may be required for residential installations.
Why Choose a Shallow Dig Cesspool?
The Clearwater Shallow Dig range is designed to minimise excavation depth, reduce installation costs, and simplify off-mains drainage projects. Its low-profile design makes it particularly suitable for challenging ground conditions while maintaining excellent storage performance.
