Clearwater Grease Trap Installation Guidelines
Grease traps are an effective way of protecting drainage systems from grease blockages. It is a requirement under the UK Water Industry to ensure that your commercial premises does not discharge any product into the drain which may interfere with its operation. Drainage serving kitchens in commercial hot food premises should be fitted a BS EN 1825-1:2004 compliant grease separator which should be designed in accordance with BS EN 1825-2:2002 or other effective means of the removal of grease.
Each grease trap is sized based upon the facilities advised number of meals/ covers per day. The waste discharged into the unit are expected to come from dishwashing sinks, dishwashers and other kitchen wash sinks.
Please note: These separators are only suitable for below ground installation.
